Our model of value chain facilitation is an emerging field, and we at the leading edge.
We seek to provide a working model for inclusive, replicable supply chains in every type of foodservice environment. Our solutions allow us to be a fast-moving difference maker nationally with an already existing reputation and recognition for creating solutions and results that empower BIPOC and other underserved producers and communities.
SOLUTIONS START WITH
UNDERSTANDING WHO WE SERVE
AND THE PROBLEMS THEY FACE
Small and midsize farmers who work incredibly hard to restore our soils and create a livelihood they deserve need help in a market environment that favors highly consolidated, corporate farms and brokers.
COVID and regular waves of economic collapse have shown us how fragile our global supply chains can be – and with climate change looming larger, the costs and perils of shipping rising, and water and soil degrading rapidly in intensive production regions, there is no better time to future-proof supply chains than now by re-regionalizing how companies and institutions buy food.
Companies and institutions recognize this fact and have adjusted their goals and metrics to leverage their purchasing power to support more regional sourcing, and need support to put together effective solutions. These problems are the ones SupplyChange can help solve by bridging the gap between producers and buyers nationwide.
Learn more about who we serve and how.
We work with farmers and foodservice buyers of all kinds ranging from schools, hospitals, universities, large corporations, and tech startups.
Our focus is on providing relief to each entity that needs assistance by starting with what’s possible and engaging in a process of continuous improvement.
Often, an executive team will pass a policy around sourcing more locally, sustainably, or equitably, but the responsibility for implementation is unclear.
SupplyChange brings clarity to the process and organizations we work with by identifying a target group of farmers and products, understanding the limitations and opportunities of your existing supply chain and procurement methodology, and designing value chain solutions that can be implemented and scaled over time.
We are here to make a positive impact on food supply chains, and offload some of the research and detail-oriented action that can be difficult to do.
For instance, many tech companies and hospital groups allow us to work directly with their contracted distributor, identify and line up farmers for them to onboard that meet their food safety and insurance requirements, then go to the chefs and identify which products to substitute out, and then report to leadership what the impact will be. We bridge the gap between all stakeholders while maintaining a nimble and action-oriented strategy that can be amended and improved over time.
